Stephen Colbert's painting is nabbed by Sticky Fingers for Save the Children Charity

As soon as I cut my computer on this morning I had an e-mail from Sime that the guys (owners) of Sticky Fingers Restaurants purchased Stephen Colbert’s painting (within a painting) on eBay for over $50,000 with the proceeds going to the Save the Children charity. Chad Walldorf, one of the principal owners of Sticky Fingers restaurant chain, plans on hanging the painting in one of their locations in Charleston. (Charleston, S.C. was the “eagle’s nest” for both Colbert and Sticky Fingers). Hopefully, Stephen will end up in a place of distinction perhaps next to the autographed photo of B.B. King.

Congrats to all of the members of this auction, it seems everybody is a winner. Sticky Fingers has some unique art. The Children get saved and Stephen Colbert gets a new painting of himself (within a painting…within a painting). I think the next painting should have him holding a picture of a brandy snifter, inside a brandy snifter inside a brandy snifter with Alec Baldwin’s picture in it. Seriously, everybody wins, and that’s the Word!
