Getting Cash Ready For The Weekend!

As a single-dad, I know that when my boy, Cash, needs to go on a trip he needs all of the comforts of home, what I like to call a doggie-diaper bag. Inside this milk-crate I packed a check-cord, leash, dog food in zip-lock baggies, treats, 2-training dummies, Hedgie, Lobster, pig-ears, and some shampoo (just in case). I think we are ready for our weekend in the mountains!

Cash is getting ready for SEWE!

The South Eastern Wildlife Expo (SEWE) starts tomorrow and my Labrador puppy, "Cash" is getting ready. Here's my boy bringing back his (duck) training dummy. His gate is still a bit awkward, but he's learning.

Cash gets his last puppy shots and meets his new doctor!

Mel might be onto something, if you are going to Dr. Patrick's, you might want to drop off your dog and come back to pick them up. We waited for two and a half hours, but it was worth the wait and Cash likes Dr. Patrick's new hire-Dr. Elizabeth Parker. She was real gentle with his shots and seemed to have a serious interest in his welfare answering all of my "its been a long time since I had a puppy, what about when he makes this sound, etc." Sadly, Cash refused to give his daddy's number to the good doctor-what a blocker! And to add insult to injury, Cash was buddy-buddy with a Davidson grad's dog named Coach! Cash WTF? Tomorrow is the big basketball game!

Cash leans Left for Clinton, Daddy is leaning Left!

So my boy is young, he isn't even old enough to vote, but Cash wants Hillary Clinton to win the Democratic nomination. We discussed it and his reasons for wanting Hillary are as follows: 1) Our image across the globe is sh_crap and it needs repaired. Ironically, the only country that doesn't adore former President Bill Clinton is the United States, everyone else loves the guy. And with the Clintons (a vote for Hillary) you get a two for one deal. Bill could be the globe-trotting diplomat and Hillary could run the country. 2) Hillary is tough-she's taken her licks from the right-wing and survived, she's ready for round two. 3) Cash wants to vote for Hillary because he wants to see Buddy (the Clinton's Labrador) back in the press.

Cash said they are related, but I am not sure. Then again, they do say pets are a lot like their owners, so the wandering stud might not have fallen far from the tree. (Settle down Cash-he obviously didn't like the snark).

Hello, My Name is Johnny Cash!

I planned on waiting to get a new puppy, a Newfie, and name him "Cash" but since I have become a believer in "signs" and despite initially wanting to wait until after my birthday to get a new addition to my family, when RT told me that someone needed to adopt "Johnny Cash" I said, "Let me meet him, if he likes me, then he's mine". I went out and got a crate, a sh_crap ton of chew able toys, puppy chow, a dog bed, collar and leash and then set off to meet him. A lot to get together before knowing if he'd even like me-I know-but like I said, it was a sign.

When he first met me, he gave me a ton of puppy kisses and then peed on me. And honestly, I was just as excited to bring him home, except for returning the peeing favor, we made it home and started to get to know one another. Luckily, Uncle Craig and Uncle Brad said they would help me with letting him out from his crate during the day-which is a blessing. I'll keep you posted on his progress with future "Lab Reports".
