It's been thirty years since Affirmed won the Triple Crown (Kentucky Derby, Preakness and the Belmont Stakes) of horse racing. The favorite for today's race, Big Brown's odds are currently at 1-4. He also happens to be the third horse ever to win at the Derby and at the Preakness by four lengths (the previous two won the Belmont Stakes). Big Brown has spent the day raising hell in Barn 2/Stall 8, so he is ready to rock. And if that doesn't help you get behind Big Brown, take a look at the photo (courtesy of JET/thebushidoway.net) and pay close attention to the finish line.
Well folks, we'll either watch history today or another disappointment (See: '97-Silver Charm, '98-Real Quiet, '99-Charismatic, '02-War Emblem, '03-Funny Cide, '04-Smarty Jones) Regardless, we're now just minutes and 1.5 miles away from horse racing and American history; frankly, I'm ready for the 11th Triple Crown Winner in American Horse Racing history! Go Big Brown!
