Friday Funnies: The Barbecue Song!
I thought this was a great tune to introduce the world to southern-bbq and clarify what barbecue is and isn’t. Also, it’s always funny to take a shot at Florida whenever you get the chance. Enjoy.

The Mast General Store in Valle Crucis, N.C.
The Mast General Store: Quality Merchandise, Fair Prices and Friendly Service
Long before the advent of malls, Super-Wal-Marts and other box stores, folks went to a general store for nothing specific. The Mast General Store is a step back in time complete with the old P.O. Boxes and calendars from the 1950's decorating the walls or perhaps just a reminder of the necessities of a simpler life, because they only sell stuff you would "need" if you lived or were vacationing in the mountains! Or as they say at the store, "If you can't buy it here, you don't need it." As you walk around the original store the creaking floor boards remind you of just how enjoyable a shopping experience can be without the loud-speaker announcements or other various comments beginning with "attention shoppers" blasting into your ears. Take a short trip down the road to the Mast General Store annex and you go to Mel's Mecca-complete with numerous candy barrels chocked full of a vast assortment of the catalyst for tooth-decay. Honestly, as soon as I walked in I realized this Mel would be like a kid in a candy-wait, scratch that its time to breath new life into that old adage, Mel would be like a Mel in a candy store!

UNC Hosts Duke Tonight @ 9 PM

One of the greatest rivalries in college basketball resumes tonight as the Duke Blue Devils travel the eight miles down Tobacco Road to Chapel Hill to take on the Tarheels. Duke enters the game (19-1, 7-0) ranked No. 2 in the nation. UNC (21-1, 6-1) is No. 3.
Bad Blood
The last time these two teams met, Duke's Gerald Henderson came across the paint to throw a flying forearm into the face of UNC's Tyler Hansbrough. With a broken nose, Hansbrough would go to the dance wearing a face-mask, a memory still quite fresh in all of our minds.
Q-turnover
Much of the Tarheel faithful are quite concerned with the loss of point-guard Ty Lawson (high-ankle sprain). His replacement will be (gasp) Quinton Thomas (aka: "Q-Turnover"). But I think we can put these apprehensions to rest after watching Q look like he might know what he is doing during the Florida State game. Will Thomas morph into the player that we thought he might develop into? If this is any consolation, Thomas' stats vs Duke seem "optimistic": 29 minutes, 8 assists and only 1 turnover.
GO HEELS!
