Friday Funnies: And I Almost Forgot...

Our new favorite LSU fan is a married man; make her proud Bubba! I think this needs to go on Facebook.

Friday Funnies: LSU Fan Is Not Happy About Georgia Being In Town

I am sure it wasn't funny for the folks in Baton Rouge last Saturday, especially for this LSU fan, who showed his learned ability of expression (direct and to the point) as Georgia took a 21 point lead but it was funny for the Bushido. Final score Georgia 52, LSU 38. Tough luck defending National Champs, maybe you will get them next time.

College Game Day: Game of the Week!

College Game Day is in Nashville, at Vanderbilt today as 19th ranked Vandy will take on 13th ranked Auburn at 6 pm tonight. There's much to question with Auburn's lack of offense under new offensive-coordinator Tony Franklin at the helm, Auburn has scored just three touchdowns in the first six weeks of college football. Auburn is 4-1, 2-1 in the SEC, with a 3-2 final score on their win over Mississippi State.

And now, we turn to Vanderbilt. Vandy is 4-0, 2-0 in the SEC (beating Ol'Miss and South Carolina). Vandy is ranked 19th in the nation-their highest ranking in 52 years and haven't had a winning season in the last 25 years (see stat snapped from ABC broadcast) which means no one on Vandy's squad was alive the last time the school had a winning season. Granted Vanderbilt is in a tough (SEC) conference (the Commodores are ranked 12th in total offense) and they do have tough academic standards which is prehaps the reason, Vandy also has the smallest stadium in the SEC with a capacity of just 39,000-that's only 11,000 more than the Citadel Bulldogs stadium. Yet, the Commodores are #1 in turnover margins, #1 in the nation in least amount of penalties and have an excellent chance of winning today; if they can prevent third-down conversions (read: Auburn's run attack) and continue their unique knack for gaining excellent field advantage. And it would appear that Vegas thinks this will be a close game as the line on has Auburn as -4 favorites.

UUUuuuuuupppppssss!

UUUuuuuupppssss! I guess I was Wrong-My B! Honestly, I thought this game was going to be a lot closer than it was. Evidently, Bama didn't care that there was a black-out, nor did they care that Georgia was the favorite, and they didn't pay much attention to the crowd-noise.

But as predicted, Georgia killed themselves with penalties ad nauseum. (See photo of Mark Richt hearing the explanation of one of the many penalties Georgia received.) And unfortunately, the press began to note that all of the black wardrobes and body paint, where nothing more than apropos dress for a funeral.

But there's good news: Florida lost today to Old Miss, so tickets to the event formally known as the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party won't be astronomical in price.

College Football Game of the Week! Georgia Hosts Alabama!

Although Georgia is ranked #3 in the nation and Alabama ranks #8, the Bushido thinks (sorry Georgia) Bama will win the game; that being stated, I expect the game to be close perhaps 3-points to a touchdown close but the decider will be the penalties-Saban’s Tide are one of the least penalized team in D-1 football and Georgia is one of top 3 penalized teams in D-1 football. Then again, I could be truly wrong and Georgia could use their “black-out” (Georgia fans are asked to wear black to the game) and long-time Bulldog announcer, Larry Munson (a friend of mine has a dog named after L-M) announced his retirement this week, (see photo) so there could be a little more at stake for Georgia tonight!

The 7-acre corn maze of Larry Munson is located at Southern Belle Farm in Henry County, south of Atlanta (Contact info: Southern Belle Farm, 1658 Turner Church Road, McDonough, GA Price: $12; $10 ages 5-9; ages 4-under are free Contact: 770-898-0999) Photo courtesy of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Georgia vs. South Carolina

Georgia is ranked #2 in the nation and many "experts" across the country are putting money down in Vegas for the Bulldogs to win the national title. Britney Spears is a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. South Carolina had four-turnovers against North Carolina State and lost last week to Vandy. Also, the Gamecocks #1 receiver (McKinley) is out for the game. But forget what you know or have read leading up to this game, because regardless of how stellar Georgia is or how bad the Gamecocks are, this game will be close; it always is. I look for Georgia to win, but by 3 or 7 at the most.

It's called levitation Holmes!

Tebowmania? Puulease! Tennessee may not be able to defend the pass (or at least against California "Rocky-Top" had trouble) but they can defend the run and they know how to score points. Basically what I am trying to say is, the defending National Champs have a horrible defense and a lack-luster offense and I think they are going to get their first loss of the season today.

Who the hell is that?

Exactly, who the heck are the University of South Florida Bulls who beat Auburn last night (at Jordan-Hare Stadium)? News flash, some big teams are going down (see App State vs Michigan) and they are paying for it (both with money and with Poll standings), could we get our act together down there in Auburn and get ready for every game?

Can Chris Leak beat the Buckeyes?

Despite the mean face here, highly doubtful. Leak has an achilles heel-he always makes at least two bad decisions during a game (think the SEC Championship when he threw 2-Interceptions to let Arkansas back into the game.
I am sure that Coach Meyer will give the Bucks a healthy dose of screen-plays and "trickeration" but sooner or later, Leak will have to throw the ball down field towards the Buckeyes very fast, very capable corners (i.e. Michael Jenkins).
My roommate Craig Blackmon was Leak's QB coach at Independence High in Charlotte, so I can say without a doubt that the kid is well coached. But I-High Patriots and the Florida Gators have never faced the speed and pressure from the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Some girls go to school to become Drs, Lawyers, some just go to get Mrs. degrees

Hence the "Gator Garter" belts worn by their cheerleaders. Go Buckeyes!

Gators will be lead by the Gator chompin' cheerleaders

Wisconsin plays Arkansas in today's Capital One Citrus Bowl

The 6th ranked Wisconsin Badgers (11-1, 7-1) face the 12th ranked Arkansas Razorbacks (10-3, 7-2) in today's Capital One Citrus Bowl. Arkansas is favored in today's game (-1.5), the over-under is 45.5-meaning, even the odds maker in Vegas had trouble thinking this one through. The game will air on ABC at 1:00 pm. (Photos compliments of the Razorback Spirit Squad)

The Bushido disagrees with the odds makers: I think Wisconsin will win hands down today. My reasoning, Wisconsin can score and score big. (They scored twice within the final two-minutes this year.) QB JOhn Stocco utilizes his tight-ends Travis Beckham and Andy Crooks. Once you try to put pressure on these two guys, wide-receivers Paul Hubbard and Luke Swan are open to make some huge plays. Obviously, Arkansas dynamic-duo of Felix Jones and Darren McFadden are a force to be reckoned with, but the Razorbacks should ask Auburn about running against Big Ten football, especially Wisconsin. Wisconsin only allows 105 rushing yards a game and they have the #3 scoring defense in the country. Special note: Wisconsin had 5 of 12 games without allowing a touchdown. Also, Jack Ikegunonu returned to the team, pending his legal case.*

Bushido's Bet: To put it bluntly, Wisonsin is pissed they went 11-1, 7-1 BigTen with only one loss to #3 Michigan and didn't get into a BCS Bowl game. I am giving Sime a Happy New Year wish and taking the #1 Party School in America, aka the Wisconsin Badgers to win. Also, I am going out on a limb here but I am taking the Over.

Auburn plays Nebraska in today's Cotton Bowl

The War-Eagles head to Dallas to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers in today's Cotton Bowl. Game-time is at 11:00 am and will broadcast on FOX. Auburn is favored (-2.5), the over-under is 47.0. This is a tough one to call with Auburn playing very inconsistent this year. Nebraska is not favored, but they are the Big 12 Champs and they always seem to perform well in their bowl games. This will be a hard fought game, Kenny Irons could be the difference maker for Auburn.

Bushido's Bet: You have the highest paid football coach in the nation facing the Mississippi Gambler. I'am taking the Gambler and the Auburn Tigers to win the Cotton Bowl. I think they will edge out the very close spread, but I don't think these teams will break 47 points, so take the under.

Penn State plays Tennessee in today's Outback Bowl

Today's Outback Bowl from Tampa, Florida will be played at 11:00 am. The Volunteers are favored (-4.5) the over/under is 41. The game will broadcast on ESPN. Jo-Pa will be in the box, but he won't be on the side-lines, but don't think that he won't make a big impact on his team's performance.

Bushido's Bet: I am posting pictures of the Tennessee squad because they are favored, but I'd take PSU to win and I'd go with the under.
